The word "to pay" in Thai language we say " jàai"(จ่าย)

But we use the word " líang " (เลี้ยง) when we pay for food, drink or entertainment for
other people (friend, girlfriend, boyfriend, family...etc)

if you say pŏm líang kâao faen [

male speaker]
(ผมเลี้ยงข้าวแฟน)
It means you pay for the meal when you take your girlfriend out to eat.
She does't need to pay anything.

Example sentences

káo jàai kâa châo bâan hâi jâo-kŏrng bâan

เขาจ่ายค่าเช่าบ้านให้เจ้าของบ้าน

chán ja jàai kâa kâo wát hâi kun kâ

ฉันจะจ่ายค่าเข้าวัดให้คุณค่ะ
